We brought your backpack carrier all the way to Kauai to go on what amounted for one hike. One whole hike. We even purchased a special suitcase just to ship the thing. Was it worth it? Definitely.
Grandma Kathy would've killed your dad if she saw this. Don't worry though we were responsible parents and decided to not summit Sleeping Giant, even though other hikers told us we should. They said as long as we stuck our bodies as close as possible to the trail wall and held on to vines near the very top, we wouldn't fall off the edge and would be OK. Tempting, but for your sake we passed.
