The Empress Hotel is one of the oldest and most iconic hotels in Victoria, BC. It's played hostess to kings, queens, famous celebrities, and now you.
Your dad and I were appalled to find out that the windows in our 5th floor harborside room opened up completely to the outside and had no safety screens. How could the hotel get away with this? And how many people have fallen through these windows? We then had to remind ourselves that we were in a foreign country. And in a foreign country, they have their own standards. If Canada can actually be counted as a foreign country.
